WHO AM I?
T: Where is your home town? What about your family?
L: I grew up in Kansas City - I actually have a fascination about how it was a "cow town." I love to read about the history of downtown Kansas City, Kansas especially. My great - grandfather owned a corner grocery store about 5th and Ann. He was 2nd generation from a Scottish immigrant family. His daughter married a railroad man and they settled in Kansas City, Kansas. They lived on the 'rich' side of the train tracks. Fast forward a few years and they married off their daughter (my mother) to a hard-working young man from the 'other side of the tracks'. My parents were married in 1941 and lived together 62 wonderful years. My mother has passed away and my father is still healthy and investing in his grand-children.
My parents moved out of KC, KS and settled in the "Piper" area. This has since become a destination point since the Legends Shopping and NASCAR Speedway along with hundreds of stores have populated the community.
T: What high school did you attend? Participate in any activities?
L I attended a small protestant school and I excelled in the important subject like yearbook and cheerleading. Oh, those weren't subjects? Hum, well I managed to get a good guy and settled down myself.
T; Music you enjoy? Movies you like?
L I love to watch movies with my kiddos. I really enjoyed reading 'Hunger Games' and my favorite all-time movie is "The Scarlet Pimpernel" (about the French Revolution)
T: Anything else special, unusual, different about you or your experiences growing up?
L. I have such great memories with a strong family center and lots of good-old hard work. I learned to sew, cook and garden - all of which have come in handy with six children of my own.
